Thieves possess a unique, if somewhat questionable, set of skills: these skills include picking locks, picking pockets, disabling traps and moving silently. Thieves must be quick and nibble on their feet; they cannot wear armour heavier than leather armour or use shields. In combat, thieves rely on stealth to sneak up on unsuspecting foes and swiftly strike their victims from behind. While all the Advanced Edition Companion playable races can reach high levels as thieves, humans are the only race with unlimited level progression as thieves.
